2024 was a harrowing year in American history. While the victory of this November’s election put rose-colored lenses on all that preceded it – vindicating the countless trials and tribulations along the way, it was certainly not the sort of year anyone would desire to repeat. To put matters succinctly, America came disturbingly close to losing it all.
Not just a political election, but really everything that this once great country stood for. This begins in the lawcourts – and the ability among lawyers, judges, and prosecutors to preserve the Constitution, the law of the land, as the guiding framework by which all decisions are made. America was not designed by the Founding Fathers to be a banana republic. This means that the political hatchet jobs, witch-hunts, and chicaneries of the sort we observed with tragic regularity all throughout the year, in courtrooms from Manhattan to Washington to Fulton County, represent a radical departure from everything we allegedly stand for as a nation – and portend far worse things to come save a monumental course correction to save us from the present trajectory.
It's easy to become desensitized to the chaos of the last year – from the scandals in the courts to the crime in the streets, to the influx of barbarians – to the tune of tens of millions – literally storming the gates of this country. Americans bore witness to at least a decade’s worth of chaos jam packed into a single year, from the near assassination attempts at President Trump, to the multiple indictments and relentless lawfare against him and his most fervent allies.
A tragically large number of Americans still languish behind bars, some in solitary confinement, with decades-long sentences, in among the worst conditions for any inmate, anywhere, all for exercising their God-given, natural rights to voice dissident opinions and demonstrate peacefully. Others find themselves in positions of house arrest, or detained in some other capacity that nevertheless violates their civil liberties. The political conservative – and particularly the Trump supporter – over these past four years found himself persona non grata with respect to a government and society that wanted him dead.
But fate had a different plan. There is obviously enough of that former old American spirit, however latent, however diminished, left in the tanks – even with the onslaught of illegal arrivals to drown it out – to go over and above the cheating and deliver President Trump his second political victory. The broader implications of the victory will only be fully known in the years and decades to come. But for now, it granted maybe one last lease on life for the old American republic; the nation that was birthed out of the Revolution and dedicated to the principles of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
In this victory, we have achieved not finality, but time. Four years ago, when President Trump was unceremoniously booted from Washington’s DC, things looked very bleak. There was a sense of dread that set in, that the MAGA movement had run its course, that 2016’s victory was a mere blip on the radar – all for naught, that the Uniparty was too powerful to be defeated.
Then came the lawfare. Donald Trump was hit with groundless case after case, orchestrated by a cabal of shadowy, disparate but interrelated networks, coordinated ultimately by Joe Biden’s Department of Justice. Jack Smith’s case, the representative par excellence of the weaponized justice system, sought to deny the former and future president of fundamental constitutional protections, including executive immunity for actions committed while in office. Despite having been exonerated not once, but twice, by the Congress – after two equally phony impeachments (and acquittals) – Smith made mincemeat of justice and launched the first political persecution of an American president in history.
He was joined by Alvin Bragg and Letitia James in New York, who themselves commissioned a motley lapdog assortment of corrupt judges – Merchan, Kaplan, and Engoron – each one taking the law into his own hands, in toto violating the letter and spirit of the constitution, to manufacture ridiculous legal claims presented before irredeemably biased juries in a jurisdiction that voted against Trump by a ninety percent margin. The thirty-four felony counts or the half a billion-dollar bill lodged at The Trump Organization were merely two sides of the same coin, an expression of a systematic, top-down lawfare campaign designed to censure Donald Trump forever – the ultimate attempt at election interference.

And, of course, there was the Fani Willis saga, which unraveled quickly as soon as it came to light that Willis and her lead prosecutor, Nathan Wade, were having an illicit romantic affair – resulting in a conflict of interest that blew the cover off a mountain of other corruption afflicting Fulton County’s District Attorney’s Office.
As the lawfare now topples one by one, like a line of dominoes, let us not forget that it was only due to the victory at the ballot box that prosecutions are being brought to a halt. Had the cheat been successfully pulled off, then the weaponized justice crusade would have entered overdrive. Thus, the lull we now experience on the lawfare front should not be taken for granted, nor be seen as the rehabilitation of a natural equilibrium in the system.
Those who abused their prerogatives must face justice. It is essential for the preservation of American freedom, hanging by a thread, that not only the rule of law be restored, but that public confidence be rekindled in the administration of justice. Short of that, our system will continue to decline, trust in institutions will erode, and the Constitution, or what vestiges of it remain, will be torn asunder.
This election marked the first step in a process to restore America, in all its glory, liberty, and freedoms. The lease on life that was President Trump’s remarkable political comeback was only that: time bought to continue making inroads against the woke progressive left, which has decimated the nuclear family, driven God from the public square, and sold our economy off to foreign workers, while replacing the natives at home.
America is a country based on ideals; but the American nation itself is no ideal, it is a real place composed of flesh and blood people, united by a shared ancestral heritage going back generations and forged by the sacrifices of our forefathers – who spilled much blood on battlefields the world over – to preserve for their posterity this noble inheritance at home. Though it might seem like the campaign work is now over, in 2025 we will enter an era in which the real work – the work that will build the foundation for at least a generation – begins.

Paul, I love this message of hope from you today. The ending paragraph was full of joy and hope. 2025 is a Jubilee year, in the Old Testament this was a time of debts forgiven and freedom given. After seven years seven times, in total 49 years, the 50th year is the Jubilee. I believe some Divine intervention was involved in this past year too.
